This policy covers ExpiryKeep (Google Play and Apple App Store package/bundle com.oceandigitalgroup.expirykeep), offered by Ocean Digital Group LLC (published on Google Play under the developer account of David Mieczynski and on the Apple App Store under Ocean Digital Group LLC). It does not cover other Ocean Digital Group apps.

ExpiryKeep helps you track expiration dates for items in your fridge, freezer, and pantry, log items as used or tossed to reduce household food waste, scan grocery barcodes to look up product names, and receive local daily expiry reminders.
Kitchen inventory and waste log (stored locally on your device): The grocery items, expiration dates, storage locations, notes, reminder settings, and Used/Tossed history you enter are stored locally on your device. We do not run an ExpiryKeep cloud database, require an account, or upload your household inventory to Ocean Digital Group servers.
Camera and barcode lookup (optional): If you use the barcode scanner, ExpiryKeep uses your device camera solely to read the numeric UPC/EAN barcode on a grocery package. The app sends only that numeric barcode over HTTPS to the public Open Food Facts database (world.openfoodfacts.org) to look up the product's name, brand, and category. Camera video frames are processed on-device and are never stored or transmitted.
Local notifications (optional): If you enable daily expiry reminders, ExpiryKeep schedules notifications locally on your device. No push notification token is sent to our servers.
CSV export (optional): When you export your inventory or waste log as a CSV spreadsheet, the file is generated locally on your device and shared only where you choose using your device's standard share sheet.
Purchases (optional): If you subscribe to ExpiryKeep Pro, Google Play Billing (on Android) or Apple (App Store / StoreKit on iOS) and RevenueCat process your subscription and verify your active Pro entitlement using an anonymous app user ID. We do not receive your payment card details.
Require you to create an account or sign in.
Sell, rent, or share your personal data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Upload your kitchen inventory or waste history to our servers.
Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org): Receives the numeric UPC/EAN barcode you scan or type (plus standard HTTP headers) to return public product name, brand, and category information.
Google Play (on Android) or Apple App Store / StoreKit (on iOS): Processes subscription payments and restores.
RevenueCat: Receives an anonymous app user ID and subscription purchase token/receipt status to manage and verify ExpiryKeep Pro entitlements.
SiteGround: Hosts our website (oceandigitalgroup.com) and may record standard web server access logs when you view this policy page.
All of your kitchen inventory, Used/Tossed logs, and reminder settings live on your device. You can clear your active inventory at any time by tapping Start fresh (clear inventory) in Settings, or wipe all local inventory, waste logs, and preferences by tapping Delete all data in Settings (or by clearing app storage / uninstalling the app). You can manage or cancel an ExpiryKeep Pro subscription anytime in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) or Apple ID / App Store Account Settings. For any privacy questions, email support@oceandigitalgroup.com.
All network requests made by the app (barcode lookups to Open Food Facts and subscription checks with RevenueCat) are encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Android cloud auto-backup is disabled (android:allowBackup="false") so your local inventory stays on your device.
ExpiryKeep is a general-audience household utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time and will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
